Yarn Along

Reading: Lizzy & Jane, by Katherine Reay. I read this author's first book, Dear Mr. Knightley, a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. I've just started this one, but if it's half as good as the first I'll be pleased. :)

Knitting: I think these socks showed up in a Yarn Along post a couple of months ago. I've been knitting on them off and on when I have the chance, so progress has been slow. The first sock is finished and I'm only a couple of stripes away from the heel on this second one. Honestly, I'm not in love with these colors so I want to finish up this pair so I can cast on some fall-colored socks.

{Yarn Along is a weekly link up hosted by Ginny where you can share what you've been knitting and reading.}

    1. Thank you! They're just a bit more pastel than I'd normally go for. :)

  3. I've never yet attempted (crochet) socks. But they look beautiful. :) I've been meaning to read that book! Glad you enjoyed the first one. I'm adding them to my To Be Read list

    1. Making socks is very addicting. :) I've had this book for too long, and I figured now was the perfect chance to read it, with her new book coming out soon.

  5. Slow progress is still progress. It doesn't matter how long they languish, eventually we will finish all of them! :-)

  7. Ahhh! Lizzy and Jane, I hope you enjoy this one, Kristin. Like DMK and The Bronte Plot it's typical, first-class Katherine Reay writing. Happy reading and knitting! Love those colors.

  8. Yeah summery colours are no good in fall! ;) This is why I still haven't made socks, I wouldn't bother repeating the process when it came to the second one!

    1. Exactly! I just wound up two balls of fall-colored sock yarn so now I'm even more anxious to finish these. :) Sometimes I get second sock syndrome, but I'm enough of a product-oriented knitter that I'm not happy until that second one is finished! But you could always knit socks two at a time. :)
