Reading: Wildwood Imperium, by Colin Meloy. Yes, I'm still working my way through this trilogy! I've just been taking it slow and enjoying the story. The first two books were rereads for me, so it's nice to be on the final book and to not know what's going to happen. :)
Knitting: A baby hat using some leftover yarn. I saw these two colors together, and my first thought was to knit a baby hat that resembles a pumpkin. Dark green ribbing, orange body, a bit of green on top and maybe a little I-cord for a stem? It sounds cute in theory...we'll see how it actually turns out. :) There won't be much selfish knitting for me over the next few months, maybe even until the beginning of the year. I have a few craft fairs coming up in the fall, plus my niece's birthday in October (I want to continue my tradition of knitting her a sweater), and then I'll have to start Christmas gift knitting in November. Hopefully I can squeeze in some sock knitting at some point! :)

The baby hat sounds delightful, looking forward to seeing the end result.
ReplyDeleteThanks...I've finished it now and it turned out pretty cute! :)
DeleteThat's SUCH a beautiful book cover. Goes really well with your knitting. :) x
ReplyDeleteI know, I love these book covers! The illustrations inside are gorgeous, too.
DeleteI love babies in pumpkin hats. I've made a few for my daughter and her friends and its always so cute.
ReplyDeleteI think pumpkin hats for babies are cute, too. :)
DeleteTis the season for knitting - for others! I am usually in the same predicament. I think I am narrowing down the knits for others this Christmas though. I can't wait to see the pumpkin hat.
ReplyDeleteI know that knitting for myself for over half of the year should be plenty of time, but I guess I'm a selfish knitter. :) There are always patterns I want to try and stashed yarn to use!
DeleteA pumpkin hat will be very sweet and very seasonal :)
ReplyDeleteI think so, too! :)
DeleteLove this photo x
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm always knitting for others! When I do actually make myself something it hardly gets worn, oddly enough. That book looks very interesting, the title and the cover are really drawing me in. Seems like a book my sister might enjoy. I like the shades of green and orange you're using in the pumpkin hat, very much autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteI wish I found it easier to knit for others. :) These books are really lovely! They have some little issues (the writing style is a little overbearing and takes a while to get used to), but overall I really enjoy them.
Deletevery interesting read and I bet the hat looks great once finished.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI love the baby had idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I thought these colors would really work nicely for that.
DeleteA pumpkin hat sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out pretty cute! :)
DeleteI've seen those books at our library and am so drawn to them by the cover! I am totally interested in looking those up! Your pumpkin hat sounds so sweet; my mom has knit several for my girls and they get a lot of wear every fall!
ReplyDeleteI recommend checking them out! The covers and illustrations are gorgeous, and the story is pretty good, too. :) I don't know why I've never thought to knit a pumpkin hat before...
Deletestill haven't finished Book 1, need to get back to it at some point :/
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long time to get into the first book the first time I read it! I liked it much better the second time through. :)
DeleteI love these colours - I just did a blanket in green with orange edging and it turned out better than I was hoping. I forgot about Christmas knitting, must get on that! :)
ReplyDeleteThe colors definitely remind me of fall! :) Christmas sneaks up on us, doesn't it? I always vow to start at least a few Christmas gifts early in the year but never follow through with it.
