What I Read: October
October was a pretty good reading month...I only read four books, but it was a huge improvement over September, anyway. :) As usual, you can click on the titles to read my reviews on Goodreads.
Landline, by Rainbow Rowell. I enjoyed this one a lot. I would probably consider it my least favorite of her books so far, but that's in no way discrediting it because I've loved all of her books. {Attachments is still my favorite.} This one was really creative in its way of storytelling.
The Body in the Library, by Agatha Christie. No, I don't own this particular edition, but I wish I did! That cover is so awesome. Anyway, this was my first Miss Marple mystery! It was good, though I could have done with a bit more of Miss Marple herself.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, by J.K. Rowling. I should be putting up my book and film review of this one in the next week or two.
As You Wish, by Cary Elwes. I've written about my love for The Princess Bride before, so of course I was ridiculously excited about this book. And it was so much fun! If you're a fan of the movie, you need to read this book. It was probably the most positive, joyful memoir I've ever read. It's primarily from the viewpoint of Westley (Cary Elwes), but there are so many little quotes and memories from the cast and crew that it feels like everyone was involved. I absolutely loved reading the stories about Andre...it made me wish I could have met him!

October was a rough month for me to read too. I don't think I finished a single book this month. You've done really well on your reading challenge though! I'm only at 40% for the year and you're already up to 85% lol. I really want to read that Princess Bride book too; I'm glad I've got a good opinion for it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI only read one book in September, so I know how you feel! :) For the first half of the year or so, I was far ahead of my reading challenge, but the last couple of months have slowed me down a lot. I hope you like "As You Wish." I really enjoyed it and I think anyone who loves The Princess Bride will like it. :)
