I'm back!

I'm back from my blogging break!

As you might have guessed, I wasn't just on any break...I was on vacation. :) With my family in the Florida Keys. Our first vacation in nearly three years!

Our hotel had free WiFi, but I decided not to take my laptop because I know I needed an Internet break. And it was actually a lot easier than I expected it to be. The first day I might have had withdrawals from checking my Etsy shop stats, but other than that it was good. :)

We left last Sunday morning and arrived in the Keys on Monday afternoon. We {meaning my dad and brother} drove the whole 16 hours straight back yesterday, which meant that we got home about 2:00 this morning.

So now, like the sign says, it's back to reality.

We had a really wonderful week. It started out like this:

Every time my family goes to Florida, the Sunshine State, the state has freakish weather. Either cool temperatures, wind, or rain. This time it was rain. During the weekend before we arrived and the first few days we were there, the Keys got between 4 and 12 inches of rain, depending on the area.

But things ended up like this. Beautiful tropical paradise.

I have so many pictures and stories that I want to share...I'm thinking about doing a Florida Keys week on the blog. :) Like putting each day of our trip into a different post. Would you guys be interested in that? It would be really picture heavy.

We saw a lot of gorgeous sites, went to some awesome places, and learned so much about the history of the Keys (and they have a ton of history!). I relaxed a lot. I knitted and embroidered a little bit. I got a lot of reading done. {Three and a half books. I read for several hours every evening while my parents and brother watched TV. I realized on this vacation that I don't miss having satellite TV at all- there's nothing on worth watching! I did watch reruns of the Duggars and Boy Meets World early in the morning, but that's about it.} I spent a lot of time with my family. Like every waking moment. :)

It was a lovely week. I was sad about leaving yesterday morning. But it does feel really nice to get back to our sweet home and our normal routine. I love to travel, but I am a homebody and a creature of habit. :) I think I will relive it with some photo-filled vacation posts, if you guys don't mind?

Until next time,
