Loves.

I know that a lot of my posts lately have revolved around lists. What can I say? I'm a listmaker. :) Just bear with me a little longer...I've got two more listy posts coming up after this one.

These are a few things that I've been loving this week:

1. Craft books.
I'm such a nerd about sewing and craft books. They're always so inspiring and fun, and they usually have beautiful photography inside. It doesn't get much better than beautiful crafty photographs. These two new ones that just came in the mail- Embroidery Companion, by Alicia Paulson, and Wee Wonderfuls, by Hillary Lang. I'm so excited about making some of the projects out of them. These two books are especially gorgeous.

2. Little Dorrit.
I've been getting this mini series through Netflix. I adore it so far! Those of you who have seen it, don't say anything to spoil it for me yet- I'm not quite halfway through. So many of the episodes end in cliffhangers that it kills me to have to wait for the next disc in the mail. Handsome Matthew Macfadyen's character is pretty much my hero in this series. So far, he's almost as good as Mr. Darcy. :)

3. The Avett Brothers' Emotionalism album.

I love this CD. I love the Avett Brothers in general, but I've been listening to this one almost nonstop lately (I squeeze in a little Sinatra, too :). I love their vocals and the bluegrass/country tinged sound. I've never been a fan of traditional nasally bluegrass vocals, but I love the sound. So this is the perfect combination. Of course, it's not typical bluegrass- there's a lot of other interesting stuff mixed in there, too.

4. The hope that fall, my favorite season, is not too awfully far away.
And we will be through with this miserable, sticky weather. And the earth will be full of color again, instead of a hundred shades of brown.

5. My latest finished embroidery piece.
I've always wanted to embroidery the picture that sits in Mary's living room in It's a Wonderful Life. I googled to find the picture, and instead found a free pattern specifically for embroidery! This was a quick little project that I finished yesterday.

I love the expression on the moon's face. :)

Don't look too closely at his hands. They're the only part I wasn't really satisfied with.

Here's the sweet, funny scene the picture is based on. I know I've said this before, but I ♥ Jimmy Stewart.

{Please know that I'm against the colorization of classic black and white films! This is just the only high quality video of the scene that I could find.}

Until next time,
