Nick, Nora, and an upcoming giveaway!

I love the "Thin Man" movies.

I had watched the first three or four from the library about a year or so ago. There are six movies total. I bought the boxed set about a month ago, so now I'm watching them all through. I'm getting ready to start on number four: "Shadow of the Thin Man."

Myrna Loy and William Powell are one of the best film couples ever. They are both so hilarious and have great chemistry! I love how comfortable they are with each other and how effortlessly their witty banter seems to come.

I am the worst mystery solver ever, so I can never guess who the murderer/guilty party is. :) So I always love seeing how the plot plays out. Plus, the costumes are gorgeous. Myrna Loy, who is already beautiful and amazing with the loveliest voice, gets to wear all of these overexagerrated 30s fashions. Long nightgowns and poofy fur hems and huge collars.

I love this face. :) It's how she reacts when she walks into a room and a young lady is hugging her husband (it's nothing romantic, but it could come across that way). He gives her a stern look, and she gives him this look. By the way, the movies are clean for the most part. There's slight violence and mentions of affairs, and Nick Charles is rarely seen without a drink in his hand (although, miraculously, he's never quite drunk). But no language or inappropriateness.

I'm getting closer and closer to the grand opening of my Etsy shop. :) I'm just trying to sort out a few little things involving shipping and money matters. I'm so excited, guys! Thanks to everyone who suggested a shop name. I've decided to go with another option (the one I already had in mind), which you guys will find out soon. Also...big news:

I'm planning a giveaway when I open my Etsy shop! My first giveaway. I haven't decided what the prize will be yet, but it will definitely be one of my wallets or purses. Who knows, maybe even two prizes? Keep checking back for more info!

Until next time,

  2. Hey Kirsten!

Thanks for the comment. No, I haven't read that book, but I'll have to check into it. :) I definitely want a man who is able to protect and defend...not only his family but is faith as well. No skinny, pail weakling for me! Agreed.

You know, I have seen a lot of old movies, but I have never seen the 'Thin Man' movies! That's crazy!
