Hi, guys. I've got posts coming up soon about "The Thin Man" and two great chick lit books that I read this week. For now, I want to talk sewing. Here are some wallets I've made over the past couple of days, all out of new fabric that I've never used before:

The colors are a lot prettier in person. Especially the dark brown and the goldish yellow. There's a light pink zipper.

I bought this fabric to make myself a bag, but then I decided I didn't like it as much as I thought. :) It looks cute on a wallet, though.

I love this fabric! I'll be making something for myself out of it: a pouch or a skirt or something.

Bright pink zipper on the teal:

My two new sewing books came this week. They're both so beautiful! I can't wait to make something from them. First is "Sew Serendipity," by Kay Whitt.

Isn't this skirt adorable? I want to make one similar to it. This book comes with three basic patterns: a skirt, a tunic/dress, and a jacket, but there are so many variations that you end up with about 18 possibilities.

My camera/the lighting is making the colors look washed out. They're really lovely!

I also bought "Amy Butler's Style Stitches: 12 Easy Ways to 26 Wonderful Bags," by Amy Butler. This book is also so beautiful. I just sit and drool over the pictures. As the title suggests, there are twelve basic patterns, with variations that result in a possible 26 different bags. And these patterns are printed on regular paper, not pattern tissue, which I really appreciate. Pattern tissue is so fragile.

I'm not too crazy about one or two of the bags, but the rest of them are gorgeous. Like this huge bag:
Oh YAY!! Another vintage blog. =) =) ...like my own. ;)
