I have a whole list of things I need to be sewing right now, like several things that have to be finished in about a week and a few that I would like to finish before school starts. But I haven't been sewing anything over the past few days. It seems like all I've been doing is reading and watching old movies. The other night I watched "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" again, starring Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur. It's such a good movie, funny but pretty dramatic towards the end. I love the tuba, the courtroom scene, and the Swanee River.
Her hat in this scene reminds me of Peter Pan, for some reason. I guess it's the shape and the feather. Whenever I hear the song "Swanee River," I think of this scene and the Peter Pan hat.
"Lucy Thinks Ricky is Trying to Murder Her" is probably one of my favorite Lucy episodes ever. It's one of the first episodes, I think the first filmed but the fourth shown on TV. It's hilarious, especially the bullet-proof protection and the sleeping powder scene. "I Love Lucy" is the only show that can make me laugh every time I see an episode, no matter how many times I've seen it.
Until next time,
