As it turned out, when I went to the community college today, I didn't set up my classes yet. I just met with a counselor and made an appointment to apply for financial aid. Anyway, I finally got the scores from my placement test...and they were better than I could have imagined! When we first walked in, the counselor said, "I have really good news." I got a perfect score on the writing part (not an essay, just correcting sentences and stuff), and missed one on the reading part. Then there was math. I scored at college algebra level, and I even did well enough that she asked if I'd be interested in tutoring other students! I was shocked, to say the least. But really happy! I know God was responsible for everything. And it was such a relief to know that I did well.
The counselor seemed surprised and impressed with the scores, but probably because she saw that I was a homeschool student. Sadly, most people look down on homeschoolers and think that they have a lower quality of education, which is completely wrong. I know that some parents who "homeschool" really don't teach their children anything and don't care, but that's just a tiny fraction of homeschoolers. And it's a shame that we all get judged by that.
