Crazy sewing...

These are what I spent most of my afternoon on. They're my new favorite things to make, because they're really quick, easy, and fun. I've been making quite a few of them to sell (hopefully). They're wallets/coin purses. I also tried making a bigger wallet (but smaller than my last one), but it didn't turn out so great. Good free wallet patterns are nearly impossible to find, so I've had to take to creating my own. It's an adventure.

I've been going crazy with my sewing over the past few days. Last night me and Mom went to Joann's. I found some really pretty corduroy to make a tote bag out of for the fall, and some "Fancy Nancy" fabric for a pocketbook for Maya Papaya's birthday next month. I also got four vintage style Butterick patterns...regular $15.95, on sale for 99 cents. I've never in my almost-year of sewing paid full price for a pattern. I love sales! I also got three Simplicity patterns (on sale for the same price) and some fabric today, which I've been making the small wallets out of. I wish I could take a whole week and do nothing but sew...maybe then I'd finish all my projects!
When I can pull myself away from my sewing machine, I've hardly been able to pull myself away from my book..."Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." I think this is my third or fourth time reading it, but the last time I read it was last summer. I had forgotten how wonderful it is. The last chapter I read was the one in Gringotts...what a tense chapter! I knew what was going to happen, but it still felt like a new story. And since they're making two movies of it, they have no excuse for leaving out anything!

Until next time,
Kristin (missvintagegirl)
